Organise an event for #GoodFoodGoodFarming

Each year we invite groups across Europe to organize their own event or register one already planned. Whether it’s a protest, picnic, workshop, film screening, or harvest—online or in person—there are no strict rules, just one cause: #GoodFoodGoodFarming!

If you already have a food or farming activity planned between October 1 and 31, don’t hesitate to register it below to get featured on our Action Map! This year we also offer grants of up to 500 euros to organize your own event. Just sign up in the registration form below with a few lines on exactly why YOUR event should get the grant. We will get in touch if you have been selected!

More Information

There are over two million migrant agricultural workers in Europe. They are an essential part of our food system. But this work often leads them into modern slavery: unacceptable working and living conditions, pay without a minimum wage, inadequate access to healthcare and the violation of their basic freedoms and human rights.

We provide free screening licenses to host a public viewing of ‘the Pickers‘, a powerful documentary on migrant workers in Europe’s food system. Sign up below and use the screening to spark discussion on labour justice.

Sign a petition

Join the movement for #FoodJustice by signing one or all of our petitions! To make it easy for you to join the campaign we have selected two petitions for you to sign, both covering important aspects of what needs to change in our food systems! Read more below.

1.  “Farming That Feeds People, Not Profits”

Most of us picture peaceful green fields and happy cows when we think of farming. But the reality? Small farms are disappearing. Animals are crammed into industrial mega-farms. And the planet is paying the price.

Every year, billions in EU subsidies—our public money—go to agribusiness giants. While the likes of Bayer-Monsanto rake in profits, we struggle with rising food prices and small farmers don’t earn enough to survive. In just 15 years, Europe lost 5 million farms. Let decision-makers know that we want change by signing the petition for “farming that feeds people, not profits”!

2. “We want a FAIR PICK”

We shouldn’t have to question whether our food is exploitation free. Existing legal standards and UN guidelines should protect migrant workers in agriculture. However, they are still not universally applied and comprehensively enforced. To make the call for Migrant workers’ rights louder, sign the 10 demands for a FAIR PICK!

Post a picture demanding #FoodJustice

Write your demand on a large sign, and post a photo of yourself holding it with the hashtag #FoodJustice and join the EU-wide action. Don’t forget to tag Good Food Good Farming! Some demands you could focus on are:

  • Access to healthy food should not be a privilege but a basic right.
  • Real market regulation means putting farmers, workers, and communities before agribusiness profit.
  • Food justice means: fair pay, dignity, and safe working conditions from field to fork.
  • We will only have a just future if the next generation of farmers does.
  • Food justice starts with thriving rural communities, not global supply chains.
  • Food justice for one is food justice for none.

Until when I can register my Action?

You can register any time from now until the end of October!

How can I incorporate this year’s theme ‘food justice’?

Food justice means shifting power away from corporations and toward people, so everyone can access healthy, affordable, culturally appropriate food, grown in ways that protect farmers, workers, and the planet. Food justice recognises food as a human right, not a privilege.

The goal is that your event raises awareness for one or multiple of these aspects of food justice. Which aspect you focus on is totally up to you and depends on what fits your context. For further inspiration and information on the concept of Food Justice, you can explore our website or refer to our Action Guide (which you’ll receive once registering an action).

If you still have doubts, feel free to reach out to us via info@goodfoodgoodfarming.eu and we can support you further.

What if I want to take multiple actions?

That’s great, the more actions the better! In that case, please register each action individually. So for instance, if you host an event and want to sign a petition, make sure to register both separately.

If you are hosting a large series of events (e.g. a nationwide series with 50+ events) it will be enough to register the series, and not each single event.

Do always make sure to register each individual screening of ‘the Pickers’ documentary, so that we can provide you with the info on how to get the screening license.

How will GFGF support me in taking an action?

As soon as you register your action on our website, you will receive an Action Guide from us via email. The Action Guide provides you with plenty of useful resources, including f.ex. a social media kit, step-by-step instructions on how to host an event or guidance on how to obtain the free license to host a screening of the documentary ‘the Pickers’.

Your action will also be displayed on our Action Map, increasing its visibility and reach!

Who can participate in the European Days of Action?

Everyone who wants to raise their voice for more food justice in Europe is welcome to participate in the EDoA 2025!

If you are an individual, perhaps signing a petition or posting a picture on social media demanding food justice fits best as an action.

If you are an organisation / company / farm / larger group with some more resources, we encourage you to host an event or screen the documentary ‘the Pickers’, for which we provide a free license.

How can I get a grant for my event?

You can apply for an event grant of up to 500€ for your event. We have limited funding available, so not everyone is guaranteed a grant. We have to make a selection. You can apply for a grant during the registration process. The selection will be made based on (1) the quality of the application and (2) a first come first serve basis. Good luck!

What happens after the European Days of Action?

After the EDoA, we want to ensure that our efforts make a lasting impact!

This is why we are eager to collect as much footage  as possible. We thus highly encourage you to take pictures or small video snippets capturing your Action.

Feel free to share the material with us via info@goodfoodgoodfarming.eu. On Nov 10th we will launch a Flashback page showcasing all the actions to amplify the impact of the EDoA.

Food justice for all

Food justice for one is food justice for none. Across Europe and beyond, everyone deserves access to healthy, affordable, and sustainable food, no matter who they are or where they live. It’s time to shift power away from corporations and toward people, recognising food as a human right, not a privilege.

Fair incomes for farmers

Markets must serve farmers, not exploit them. Reducing corporate control and enforcing fair rules are key to securing fair prices and decent livelihoods for the farmers who feed us. When markets work for people, public money can support sustainable farming and community well-being instead of corporate profit. Fair incomes mean thriving rural areas and resilient food systems that can feed us all.
